Handling the Heat
A wood-burning stove or open fire generates intense localized heat. Soft stones like limestone can crack. Granite expands and contracts evenly, handling the thermal shock.
Color Choice: Go Dark
Soot and ash are inevitable. A white hearth will look dirty instantly. We recommend Black Pearl or Steel Grey. The dark background hides the ash dust, and the polished surface allows you to wipe away soot easily without staining.
