Holding the Weight
A large granite island top can weigh 500 lbs. The cabinet base isn't always enough, especially with an overhang.
Options
- Waterfall Edge: Using Viscon White to run down the side to the floor. This provides massive structural support and looks stunning.
- Steel Posts: For a modern floating look, use tubular steel legs.
- Corbels: Traditional wood or metal brackets. Good for classic designs but can bang knees.
