The Bathroom Battle
In a bathroom, the threats are different: hairspray, nail polish remover (acetone), and toothpaste (abrasive).
Marble (The Classic)
Stones like Indian Statuario look spa-like and elegant. However, if you spill nail polish remover on marble, it will etch instantly. Dyed shampoos can also stain porous marble.
Granite (The Survivor)
A white granite like Viscon White gives the marble look but is chemically resistant to acetone and acids. It is the safer choice for kids' bathrooms or heavy-use master baths.
