The Sealing Confusion
Many homeowners seal their granite every 6 months "just in case." This is wrong. If the stone doesn't need it, the sealer will dry on top, creating a cloudy, streaky haze that is hard to remove.
The Test
1. Pour a tablespoon of water on your Ivory Brown countertop.
2. Wait 15 minutes.
3. Wipe it dry.
Result: Is there a dark mark where the water was?
YES: The stone absorbed the water. It needs sealing immediately.
NO: The spot looks the same as the rest. The seal is intact. Do not add more product.
Dense stones like Absolute Black may never fail this test. Porous stones like Kashmir White might fail it every year.
