The Art of Inspection

Quality control starts at the quarry face. Before we cut a block of Black Galaxy into slabs, we stress-test it.

1. The Sound Test

We hit the block with a heavy hammer.
A Clear Ring: The stone is solid, dense, and crack-free.
A Dull Thud: There is an internal fissure or "hairline" crack absorbing the vibration. We reject these blocks immediately.

2. The Water Test

Rough blocks are dusty and grey. We spray them with water. This simulates a polished finish, revealing the true background color and exposing any "moles" (black spots) or "lines" that would ruin the slab. Only the top 30% of harvested stone makes it to our export factory.
