Big Slabs, Big Risks
Large format porcelain (like our Statuario Platina) offers a seamless look, but installing a 3.2-meter slab is tricky.
Critical Installation Rules
- Level Subfloor: The floor must be perfectly flat (Self-Leveling Compound is mandatory). Any high spot will crack the slab when walked on.
- Back-Buttering: You must apply adhesive to both the floor AND the back of the tile to ensure 100% coverage. Air pockets = Cracks.
- Suction Frames: Never lift by hand. Use a specialized aluminum frame with vacuum suction cups to move the slab without bending it.
