The Aging Process

Both are sedimentary stones, but they age differently outdoors.

Limestone (The Fade Risk)

Black Limestone is hard and has a smooth surface (orange peel texture). However, it is infamous for UV fading. Without constant sealing, a jet-black patio will turn concrete-grey in 2 years. It is structurally sound, but the color changes.

Sandstone (The Texture Change)

Raj Green Sandstone is color-fast. The browns and greens stay true. However, sandstone is softer. Over 20 years, sharp edges will round off, and the surface grain may open up slightly. This creates a beautiful "ancient" look, often desired in heritage properties. It doesn't look worn out; it looks lived-in.
