The Iron Problem
Rust happens when iron particles (either from metal furniture or naturally occurring iron inside the stone) oxidize. It leaves ugly orange rings on your beautiful Steel Grey patio.
The Solution: Chemistry
Do NOT use bleach. It can set the stain permanently. Instead, use a specialist Non-Acidic Rust Remover (often purple-turning chemicals). Apply the gel, agitate with a nylon brush, and let it sit. The chemical reacts with the iron oxide, turning it purple and soluble. Rinse thoroughly with water. For deep stains on porous stones like Sandstone, you may need multiple applications.
