How to Store Stone Slabs Safely on Site

The Gravity Trap

Stone is strong in compression, weak in tension. Never lay a slab flat on uneven ground; it will snap under its own weight. Never lean it against a wall at a steep angle.

Storage Rules

1. Use an A-Frame: Store slabs vertically on a timber A-frame.
2. Off the Ground: Place timber skids underneath. If White Marble touches red mud, it will wick the moisture and stain permanently (wicking).
3. Cover It: Protect from rain to keep the stone dry for installation.
