The DIY Risk
Can you sand marble by hand? Technically, yes. But you will leave a dip in the floor (lens effect). It will reflect light unevenly and look worse.
The Pro Way
To restore a scratched Green Marble floor, you need a heavy rotary floor machine and a sequence of diamond pads: 200, 400, 800, 1500, 3000 grit. Then a polishing powder (Tin Oxide). This grinds the whole floor flat evenly. Don't try spot-fixing deep scratches by hand.
