The Rust from Within

Some white granites contain trace iron minerals. When exposed to water (from a leaky sink or high humidity), this iron oxidizes (rusts), creating yellow/orange stains that seem to come from deep inside.

Prevention

You must use a premium Penetrating Sealer on stones like Colonial White or River White. This blocks water from reaching the iron particles.

The Cure

If it's already yellow, use a "Rust Remover Poultice". Do NOT use bleach, which can accelerate the rusting process on iron-rich stones.
