Geology Doesn't Lie
The global market is flooded with cheap granite. But savvy buyers know the difference between Indian and Chinese stone.
The Age Factor
Indian granite comes from the "Peninsular Shield," composed of rocks from the Precambrian age (3+ billion years old). The magma cooled incredibly slowly under immense pressure.
Result: Tighter crystal structure, higher density, and lower water absorption. Stones like Paradiso are bulletproof.
The Chinese Issue
Much Chinese granite is geologically younger. It is more porous.
The Rust Problem: Many grey Chinese stones contain unstable iron that rusts (turns yellow) when wet.
The Dye Problem: To hide defects, some factories dye the stone. This fades in the sun. Indian granite is naturally colored and never dyed. It is an investment in longevity.
